Made reservations at $17.45 per day for a compact, when arrived to airport customer service rep asked if we wanted to upgrade to a full size for $20 per day at 50% off original price of $40. We figured, $2.55 extra, why not! Everything was electronic, after traveling 12 hours we did not pay attention to paper after printed. WATCH OUT. IF YOU BOOK ON HOTMAIL ETC. THE COUNTER REP CHANGES TERMS AND RATES AND THEN PRINTS UP A NEW ONE. MY 125 DOLLAR RENTAL TURNED INTO 225. even worse...the toll which i had no way of knowing i got cost $1.63. THRIFTY DOLLAR added $30.00 to my card a couple of weeks later for Administration fees. I opt to use Thrifty Rental every time I visit Kansas which is anywhere from once every month or once every two months. I have spent a lot of money with thrifty Rental and I have not bad any complaints thus far...until today. Once arriving at the counter to pick up my rental car, I handed the manager on duty my DEBIT card and two forms of ID. I rent cars on a regular basis. I usually go with the lowest price mid or full size car I can find. I have rented from thirty in multiple occasions and find their customer sales tactics and hidden fees annoying at best. I recently rented a car from thrifty. Horrible!!! They charged me a bogus fee of $100 for some hairs on the floor in a small section in the back. I filed a complaint with pictures and they just declined, without listening to me at all. Horrible!!!! I dropped off my car and was charged $100 cleaning fee- they did not tell me until I saw it on my receipt, because there was a little bit of hair on the floor in the backseat. Thrifty by far is the worst car rental company with the worst customer service. My husband rents about 75 cars each year and we used to use Thrifty until he rented a car from a small lot late at night. There was no inspection done since it was dark and no one could see anyway. The next morning he noticed a chip in the windshield, reported it to the office. Upon returning the car the agent told him not to worry. Fast forward to today, 3 years... Read more

We rented a car with Thrifty in Israel, and the car itself was fine. However, when we returned the car, they claimed that there was damage that we caused, even though it was noted down on the inspection documents initially, and they created an incident report. They wouldn't let us get on the plane (airport rental) without agreeing to sign the report, which we did as we were being held hostages. They said they would provide us with the estimate... I made a reservation for a Premium Vehicle. Once noticing I made the reservation for the wrong day I called and asked them to change it. They changed the date and told me I had to pay $16 extra...fine! I pay the money come back through to a rep and she tells me there are no cars avail for that day. Rented car at airport for three days to take mother to doctors app. Said i might need longer ,tolx me call...i called up for two more days said 48 a day ..no problem .could not get cheap flight till monday ,at airport askex if i sould keep for full 7 days or retun for cheaper one on weekend ..said return ,,got bill for $100 more than told inside guy said You should have keep it for 7 day paid for it...but you broke contract ..nothing we can do... Recently rented a car through Firefly, two days before for the trip I was contacted by Thrifty saying that Filrefly is out of business and I would be taken care of by Thrifty. I arrived at the airport only to find the Thrifty counter was closed with a sign saying go to the Dollar counter.
